Sculptures of rust. Metal, brought to life by sparks.

Welcome, I am Joshua Pennings, metal artist. Educated in creativity, self-educated in the technical side of metalworking. As a modern blacksmith I create metal sculptures. Powerfull animals and fantasy-creatures are often returning themes in my work. Movement like flying and traveling is also seen a lot in my statues. Often I get inspired by the material, but mostly it is my imagination from which the pieces arise.

In my smithy I shape the cold metal into warm sculptures. Back to basics, metal and fire, hammer and anvil. Blacksmithing like is was done 2000 years ago. Realy cool. Metalworking is a fantastic way to create and shape my ideas. Always driven and progressive, I work on my sculpture.

I do exhibitions all through the Netherlands and abroad. I am always looking for opportunities to show my work to the world. I do assigments for clients and companies regularly.

The sculptures are made of new and used metal. Always from thick and firm material. My work is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. I love the rusty colours, they are so vivid and alive, but when desired the statues can also be non-rusted or coated.
